Yeti Kong

The snow and cold in Chicago inspired me to try a new spin on an old arcade favorite. I call him Yeti Kong. His adversary would have to be Sherpa Mario.

P.S. Please note that I did indeed post before Valentine's Day (even if it's only 4 days before)

Happy New Year!

It's been almost two months since my last post. So much for using my vacation time over the holidays to draw.

Oh well....Happy New Year to all and here's hoping your 2008 is better than your 2007.

(And here's hoping I post again before Valentine's Day.)

A Charlie Brown Christmas

The 60s/70s were a great time for Christmas specials on TV. Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer (1964), A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965), How the Grinch Stole Christmas (1966), Frosty the Snowman (1969), and Santa Claus is Coming to Town (1970) all made their debuts then. Even the second tier specials like The Little Drummer Boy (1968), The Year Without Santa (1974), and Rudolph's Shiny New Year (1976) came out during those decades.

They are all available on DVD now but there is still something special about gathering the family around the TV to relive the memories of Christmas' past.

Where are the new Christmas specials that my kids will be nostalgic about in 20 years?

Happy Belated Thanksgiving

I know it's a little late but here's an image from Tex Avery's "Jerky Turkey". I had something besides my friends and family to be thankful for this year....the time to draw.

Here's hoping you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and that the tryptophan from the turkey wore off in time for you to get up for work today.

Snagglepuss

This one is a request from one of my visitors (ok...it was my sister-in-law) for that other pink panther, Snagglepuss. I don't remember Snagglepuss that well except for his two catchphrases, "Heavens to Mergatroid!" and "Exit stage left!"

If any other visitors have requests, I'd be happy to try and draw whatever characters you can come up with.

Alternative Monster Cereals Part III: Raisin the Dead

This drawing shows what happens when a California Raisin comes back from the dead. I imagine him shuffling around and moaning, "Brrrraaaaaannn"
